How to apply Glow Time BB Cream

Our most frequently asked question about Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream is, how do you apply it? Today we will tackle that question and learn three ways to apply Glow Time BB Cream to get different coverage results, but first here’s a little more information for those of you who don’t know what Glow Time BB Cream is.

Glow Time

Glow Time BB Cream is jane iredale’s highest coverage foundation. It also provides Broad Spectrum SPF 25 and UVA P++ protection that is water resistant for up to 40 minutes. This is the highest SPF rating of all our foundations. Glow Time BB Cream is available in 6 shades: BB1 (Fair), BB3 (Light), BB5 (Light to Medium), BB7 (Medium), BB9 (Medium-Dark to Dark), BB11 (Very Dark). It is full of natural extracts that help cover blemishes, minimizes pores, disguises wrinkles and smooths and brightens skin. It is also non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, sensitivity tested, clinically tested, dermatologist tested- so you can wear this with full confidence. Here is some more info on those hero ingredients and what they do:

  • Grapefruit Extract promotes luminosity and skin radiance, minimizes appearance of pores and wrinkles, and may help to fade uneven pigmentation.
  • Apple Extract is a skin-smoothing antioxidant that exfoliates, refines and rejuvenates the skin.
  • Sunflower Seed Oil is rich in moisturizing vitamin E.
  • Aloe Leaf Juice soothes and calms the skin.

That’s great, but how do I apply it?

There are a number of ways you can apply Glow Time BB Cream, but here are my top three favorites each should produce slightly different finishes so I have organized them by that.

1. Full Coverage

  • Start by priming and moisturizing your skin using Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener.
  • Squeeze a pea size amount of Glow Time BB Cream onto your pointer fingertip.
  • Using your three middle fingers from each hand, gently rub your fingertips together so that the BB Cream is spread evenly on all six fingers.
  • Now, begin gently tapping your fingertips all over your face. (If I lost you at this point take a look at the video below of Jenna using this technique at the :18 mark.)

2. Medium Coverage

  • Start by priming and moisturizing your skin using Hydration SpraySmooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener.
  • Spritz your Flocked Sponge 2-3 times with your favorite Hydration Spray, I love POMMISST.
  • Apply a pea size amount of Glow Time BB Cream on the spritzed area of the Flocked Sponge.
  • Gently apply to your face using the sponge in gentle downward motions and blend well. Don’t forget your jawline and neck!
  • If you still need a little extra coverage in some areas, gently pat the sponge over them.

3. Sheer-Medium Coverage

  • Apply 1/2 a pea size amount of Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener to your pointer fingertip.
  • Apply 1/2 a pea size amount of Glow Time BB Cream to the same finger tip.
  • Smear your fingertips together and gently rub on your face. You will still get all the benefits of both Smooth Affair and Glow Time but with a finish that is more similar to a Tinted Moisturizer.

Glow Time BB Cream can also be used as a concealer by applying a little extra to any area that needs more coverage because of how pigmented this foundation is. The finish of Glow Time BB Cream is very luminous, so if you have oily prone skin or prefer a more matte look you may choose to apply a thin layer of PureMatte Finish Powder.

  1. I tried a very small sample of the BB cream and loved it. Would like to try it in a larger amount.

  2. I wear the smooth affair and BB7 and am in love with them both! They go on very smooth and make my skin look and feel great! I like to finish with the balance spray, because I tend to have oily skin. Love these products!

  3. Hi, Do you have these in sample sizes? I do makeup artistry in my spare time so I like to have smaller sizes of things so I don’t lose alot if things go off. If you don’t, could you organise it for me? I am registered as a MA with your Brisbane branch. Kind Regards, Erin. P.S I also think all the mascaras should be in squeezable tubes for out on the job. The black pencil needs to be more pigmented also.

    1. Hi Erin,

We do not have Glow Time or Smooth Affair in smaller sizes and this is not something we are able to do at this time. However, we appreciate these suggestions and I will definitely pass them on!

      Best wishes!

  4. Hi I have tried Glo Time and it feels great on my skin but I have difficulty getting a smooth finish….what am i doing wrong, I use a brush to apply but around nose and chin area it seems to be cloggy. Any suggestions welcome Thanks

  5. I have one sample and it is fabulous for my dark circles under my eyes. I would like to experiment with all of them to see what shades are best for other areas. But the one I have is a real winner!!
